S.K. Chimney Sweeps was founded in 2015 by Sam—known locally as Sam the Sweep—in the village of Measham, situated on the border of North West Leicestershire and South Derbyshire. From the outset, the business was built on a clear commitment to reliable, high-quality workmanship, honest advice, and excellent customer service. This approach quickly earned S.K. Chimney Sweeps a strong local reputation, allowing the business to grow steadily year after year through word-of-mouth recommendations.

Over the years, S.K. Chimney Sweeps has carried out professional chimney sweeping and maintenance services for a wide variety of properties. These range from small village terraced homes to large country houses and stately properties, including work undertaken for the National Trust. In 2025, after a decade of consistent growth, Sam Junior joined the business, marking an important milestone as S.K. Chimney Sweeps became a true father-and-son family operation. Working as an apprentice alongside his father, Sam Junior is being trained to the same high professional standards and values that the business has always upheld.

Today, S.K. Chimney Sweeps provides chimney sweeping and related services across North West Leicestershire, Derbyshire, Sheffield, and South Yorkshire. The business continues to build on its long-standing reputation for dependable, professional service—combining traditional skills with modern methods to keep customers safe, compliant, and confident in their chimneys.

Sam Wheeler
NACS Chimney Sweep

Sam Wheeler, also known as “Sam Junior,” is a proud second-generation chimney sweep, providing NACS-qualified chimney sweeping and related services across Sheffield and South Yorkshire.

After successfully completing his NACS training, Sam joined his father in 2015 as an apprentice chimney sweep, continuing a family tradition built on reliability, workmanship, and trust. As the business grew, Sam the Sweep evolved into S.K. Chimney Sweep & Son, becoming a true father-and-son family business serving homes across the region.

Sam’s ambition is to continue growing the business in his hometown of Sheffield and throughout the beautiful South Yorkshire area, while maintaining the high standards and personal service the company is known for.

Embracing modern technology, Sam also uses drone inspections to safely assess chimney pots and bird cowls. This allows him to photograph and identify damage caused by weather, birds, or general wear—helping customers spot potential issues early and keep their chimneys safe, compliant, and in good condition.

APICS Chimney Sweep

Simon Kowalik also know as "Sam the Sweep" is a passionate chimney sweep providing chimney sweeping other related services in an around Measham.

Sam left school and joined the Royal Marines serving for 10 years, he then joined the MET police after his training at Hendon Police College.

His police career lasted for 26 years serving in a number of forces and departments.

In 2015, after serving his country in many roles, Sam looked for a new career, deciding on becoming a Chimney Sweep. Like all the other roles Sam had in his life he wanted to be the best - Sam is a member of several national bodies relating to Chimney Sweeping and is a passionate advocate of "using the right fuels".

Sam's reputation for attention to detail, value for money and all round knowledge has seen S.K. Chimney Sweep grow as a business providing a a quality service and valuable information resource.
